Advisers on sexuality are named

New advisers were appointed to the House of Bishops advisory group on human sexuality this week.
The three new members are the Rev Dr Jessica Martin, Priest-in-charge of Duxford, Hinxton and Ickleton, Dr Robert Song, Head of Theology and Religion at Durham University and the Archdeacon of Hackney, the Ven Rachel Treweek.
The group, chaired by Sir Joseph Pilling, guides the House on the Church of England’s position on sexuality.
In July last year, the House of Bishops announced it intended to gather material from the Church of England’s listening process in light of the 1998 Lambeth Conference vote on the subject of sexuality.
It pledged to offer further proposals for the Church in light of this process.
The task for the human sexuality group, it was announced in January, is to help the House of Bishops to produce a consultation document.
