Hi. I’m trying to find an article that ran in the CofE newspaper in August 1956, concerning the fundraising activities of (Methodist) Rev. James Butterworth on his American Tours during the 1950s. Are the original articles from this long ago likely to be available in your archives? Many thanks. James.

Oh Thank you, God! I lived in London in 1960. One of only 58 US Army Personnel serving in all of England, at that time. I was treated so rudely by the general population, jeered at, called a, “Joe,” and ridiculed on the streets, when wearing my WWII “ODs” with an Eisenhower Jacket. I said then, “How the did England ever field an Army? Were ALL the Real Men of England, KILLED in WWII?” All I saw was a bunch of, “wimpy males,” hanging together like, “boyfriends,” in pubs. I believed that, until 23 June 2016! I cried with JOY, when the Vote was announced on Texas TV. I now believe there are still 10s of thousands of Real Englishmen, with cajunas. I stood in my living room and sang the, “Doxology,” upon hearing how God has Blessed the people of England, with FREEDOM from Belgium and all other nations! Praise God from whom all Blessings Flow ! Dear CEN,
I downloaded the app on the iPad, which also linked to my iPhone. Sometimes, it would read on the iPad, sometimes on the iPhone, sometimes on neither.
Apple gave me a refund and asked me to contact you.
    Can you help?

    • CEN   17/05/2018 at 12:57

    • CEN   18/05/2018 at 12:37

Andrew Carey praises the principle of ‘religious freedom’ citing Jacob Rees-Mogg’s pro-life anti-abortion stance – even in the case of pregnancy resulting from rape – as an example of this in action in the public sphere. So what is Andrew’s reaction to Jacob’s recent admission that his investment firm profits from pills used in dangerous illegal abortions? Proclaiming oneself to be a ‘Christian’ seems to be good enough, especially when the Vatican finds no fault.
